Iris Rubin

   Iris Rubin dedicated her live to the research of biodiversity in the last natural resources on earth. She particularly specialised in recording, photographing and drawing the tropical flora and fauna.

    Born 6th April, 1974 in Austria, Klagenfurt.

    Education:

1980-1986 Rudolf Steiner Schule, Klagenfurt;

1986-1993 High School for Music and Arts, Viktring;

1993-2002 Studies in Biology, University of Vienna.

   Further educational activities:

1995, Costa Rica – expedition to the Austrian Rainforest;

1996, Peru – rafting expedition along the Rio Azul;

1997, Borneo, Sabah – excursion with the University of Vienna;

1998, Borneo, Sabah – diving course;

1999, Borneo, Sabah – expedition to the primary forest on the Malayan-Indonesian border;

2000, Peru – rafting expedition at the Candamo Lake and Rio Tampopata;

2001, Ethiopia – excursion with the University of Vienna to the Siemen Mountains;

2001, Jordan – diving excursion with the University of Vienna at the Red Sea;

2002, Costa Rica – dissertation thesis during a five months stay at the Research Camp of the Austrian Rainforest.
